Indira is Nick’s Girlfrien and was born in 2922 on Terra Prime. Being the first child of an UEE Army officer and a teacher, she experienced a childhood that was more or less overshadowed by frequent changes in place of residences as well as a natural absence of her father – sometimes for months, sometimes even for a year. This instability of her childhood shaped her natural desire for harmony, emotinality and private identification.

Indy, as she is also called by her family and friends, went to primary school at Davien and Goss System. When her father changed his military base in 2938 again, she and her mom joined him, heading to Kiel. There she did first her High school degree in 2940 and then headed to College, specialising on pre-school paedagogics.

In 2943, while still visiting college, Indy decided to earn some additional money to rent a small apartment, which more or less let her to her first small job as Concierge at Intergalactic Airlines Spaceport Lounge at Kiel System. Here she met Phoenix Branson in 2945, the former CEO of Intergalactic Airlines, who offered her a career as a flight attendant for Intergalactic Airlines.

After finishing college in 2944, Indy was first torn between joining a part time position in a Kindergarten, or starting a training as flight attendant, as Phoenix offered her a while ago. After a week of speculation, she decided to follow Intergalactic Calls. To strong was the curiosity and the yearning to see the beauties of the verse.

So Indy oined Intergalactic Airline in 2946 – so in the same year as Nick did. Both met in one of the courses, that Crusader Industries held for cabin and flight deck crews in their local training facility in Stanton System.

Indira liked Nick’s more or less friendly and honest approach to life, trying to flirt with him – initially not with very much success. Mercier – being a more or less a rather dry, rational personality – favored to focus on his Airmen’s Traing for Intergalactic Airline. So in fact it took more or less one and a half year for Indira to become Nick’s partner.

But Indira´s virtues were endurance, beauty, passion and strength – and she knew that well. She is the kind of woman, which men like to look at, and she shared the blessing of being gifted with education, charme und politeness. So she decided to stick to Mercier’s heels for over a year. Consequently, both stumbled into an affair in December 2947.

Anyway, one of Nick’s weaknessses is his slight paranoia. Believing that an outing as a couple would be counterproductive for him and her in their jobs, Mercier favored to keep their liaison secret, and Indy obeyed to his will.

Anyway, in a profession, where people mostly share 14 hours of day in teamwork, things were rather pretty difficult to hide. So first rumors about an affair going on between Nick and Indy leaked out in early 2948, and in early spring 2948 there liaison was already an open secret.

But unlike Nick, Indira suffered pretty much more about the secret side of their partnership. And Nick – even if not being blessed with very much empathy and emotional Intelligence – started to feel that. As a matter of consequence, he decided to make their partnership public in May 2948. Two months later they moved together.

Once she moved in, Indira developed to be Nick’s social brain and conciousness pretty fast. Being used to take care of things due to her job, her past and her family, she handles most issues around him. Additionally, she is an awesome cook and also can manage social and family relation with ease.

As a flight attendant for Nick’s employer she also likes to travel and see the beauty of the verse. But unlike Nick it is not her only focus. Surely, she likes here profession and her colleagues – but unlike Nick she does not live for it. For her being flight attendant just means to earn a living.

Family and Social Relations:

On a long term base Indira just sees her goals in a different direction. Being of indian heritage she more or less dreams for having a home, a family and kids. She never did make a big secret about her ambitions, and Nick accepted it, when they moved together in 2948.

Indira is in a position, where she can follow her ideas quite well. Nick’s father – Richard Mercier – appreciates Indira’s honest and lawful personality.

Suzannah and Risa – Nickolas’ younger sisters – are on even good terms with her, being tight friends of Indy. And Nick’s youngest Sister Isabella is also heavily focused on Indira, since she stepped into a mother role for her after her mother passed away in December 2045.
