Topic: You got Mail…

Hey Nicky,

you got Mail again … At first I thought it was an invoice or so … So I opened the letter. But anyway – when I looked inside there was a letter and a certificate: You really do university courses? Jeeeezzz, why did you never told me about that … I mean, I am now somehow excited … I would have told Mom already … And dad … And my friends … And your sister too… Since when do you teach at university and why did you start with it …? And now I expect a very, very fast reply … I am curious as curious can be …

By the way – the letter from Goss Polytechnics also contained a voucher for two persons for Metroplex Holo Theater … Hmmm … I am looking forward to it … we did not hat fun in any movie for quite a while … you know – the one or the other way 😉

Included in the letter was a certificate … *big smile* … It looks sharp and says

“Certificate of Excellence for continual commitment in training.

Mister Nickolas Mercier is granted this certificate as appreciation for his outstanding achievement for Goss Polytechnic University …”

I have to say, that makes me somehow hot now … I am just confused that you never told …

So and now go on with the facts…

And if you are a nice guy, you will get a small gift from your wifey 🙂

Fat kisses

Indy

Hey Baby,

A certificate? Really?

Hmmm, somehow I did not really expect an appreciation or something like certificate …

See, the courses I am doing at Goss Polytechnics are not really big ones… Just teaching subgraduate students in their first year of studies via tele-learning …

They weren´t even long ones… Some occasional stuff about Otto Lilienthal´s “Theory of Bird Flight”, Charles Lindbergh´s aircraft called “Spirit of Saint Louis” and some other stuff about history of aviation. But most lasted just for a couple of days or weeks.

So I never told you about them since I considered them a “No-Frill-Activity”… I mean I did not even needed to learn or prepare much stuff about them…

You understand, sweety?

Fat big kisses and huggies

Nick

Chuckles … Nick to be true … you don´t need to start learning, since you do it all day … I mean, I can hardly imagine you without scientific literature… you even have books in your hand, when we hang at the pool or are in our vacations.

And well … just because you do not consider such things as not important, it doesn´t mean that I share this view.

So next time please tell me about such things … You know that I love gossip … By the way – I already told mum about it … She was as excited as me … I should also tell you, that you did a great job.

Okay dear, I need to hopp to the mall in some minutes. See you tonight…

Fat big kisses

Indy

Topic: Short request

Good morning, Nick… Should be now 5.30am at Terra Prime. Since I know, that you love to stand up early, I just wanted to submit some information. I am sure, you will love to hear them…

Information 1: I got the passenger lists for February, March and April from Anderton. You can lean back and relax… Our Route from Thal to Goss is neatly sold out for the next three months… The same is valid for the connection to Palas.

What is quite the funny thing, that amuses me … Swift got first small requests by some smaller Xi´An travel companies for this summer. What shall I do? Shall I keep them at bay?

Information 2: I just spoke with UEE Department of Trade, so far the necessary licenses for the scheduled trips to Hadur have been approved and will be submitted later this afternoon. If you like, I will inform Swift accordingly and make sure that proper starlifter crews will be scheduled for the trip … You know, how the bunch in Swift´s admin office is – don´t be too friendly to the common folk. By the way – if I would be CEO I would think about a management change in their administration. But I mean, I am just a simple secretary.

Information 3: You just recently told me, that you would like to join one of trips to Hadur. So I submitted to swift, that you will be onboard on one of the next flights, too. It helps, to make this bundle of professional vacuum more cooperative. Layover will be one day … I already scheduled a hotel for you. Just let me know, if you have special wishes.

Information 4: I got a call from Crusader Industries this morning. They confirmed your participation for Hercules Type Rating and excuse for the delay. Additionally, they requested whether you would be interested in an Advanced Engineering Course for the Starlifter. It looks like they adore you, especially since Crusader offered you the next top-budget training course just before basic certification.

Something else to say … Yeah … Bring me some milk chocolate from Terra Prime please. Brand “Meadow´s Favorite” please. And also let me know if you have some pressing issues…

Greets

Nancy

Topic: Good job

Hey Nancy,

Good job.

Concerning 1: No, don´t keep them at bay. Try to find out, what they exactly want and whether they are legally clean. If they are and if we had proper capacities, submit them an offer … As long as we aren´t in a stable win situation, I won´t say No to any client who is legally clean…

Concerning 2: Yeah, the Swift administration also worries me… Too large, too static, too uneffective. But optimizing them will take major efforts … I wouldn´t take any serious steps here without considering bankruptcy management.

Concerning 4: Yeah, confirm them my participation for the Advanced engineering course for the Hercules. I will pay participation out of my own purse. Indy will hate me the next few days. But participating in courses directly at Crusader Industries is always well spend money.

Well, I can answer question number 1. There are two smaller companies, that leave quite a good impression to me and where I have the feeling, that they are a good choice. Both are smaller enterprises, which favor to keep out of the squables of great Xi´An house. Their main ambition is to offer business travels for middle-management professionals and officials from Pallas to Thal… Both have a clean customer structure, who can hardly afford a negative file in Xi`An legal records. Saying yes to both companies would have the positive effect, that we could resupply our ships on Pallas with business travelers to Thal. But those are just my two cents.

Understood… Sounds good to me … Can you do me a favor and draft an offer? Send it to me and to Gerard Chan, please, for discussion.

Nickolas Mercier

First Officer Nickolas Mercier was born in 2914 on Goss III. His father being a Navy Officer and his mother being a Nurse, he somehow merged with the differing interests in his family. Being sly and educated, well-mannered and long-term oriented, he somehow lacked all qualities necessary for his dream profession: becoming a fighter pilot. Although he learned aeronautics pretty early due to his Dad, Nick showed no sign of evidently necessary combat pilot qualities like intuition, agressivity and tactical focus. So he failed his Navy Combat Pilot Test in 2935. What can be a lack of qualities in one branch was his benefit in another. So he sucessfully passed his test for United Empire of Earth Imperial Center of Cartography in the same year and became Pilot in 23rd Exploration Group. He earned his merits there for being a skilled pilot, serving on an Andromeda Class Vessel in his final stages of service. In 2946 he surprisingly mustered out after his mother´s death and joined Intergalactic Airlines, gaining his Type Rating for Genesis Starliners in 2947 and advancing to management and flight instructor position rapidly. In 2949 he changed his employer and joined Atlas Defense Industry as transportation pilot for roughly a year. Prefering a career in civil aerospace transportation though, he skipped to Extensive Enterprises becoming Chief Pilot in 2950. Due to his experience in Starline Operation he was nominated as Interim Operations Manager for Swift Starlines - a small semi-bancrupt passenger and cargo transportation company in the same year, effectively managing to lead the company out of it´s financial within a year.
