Topic: Welcome back

Good morning, Nick…

Just a short summary about the current issues while you were in your vacations.

Issue 1: While things outside look worse, our passenger capacity to neighbouring system returned to normal. Okay we are a small Starline, this saved our ass. While our competitors grounded our downsized their fleet. The Genesis are more or less fully overbooked for a month. Additionally there is a large requests for flights to Terra. But passenger number on Terra loop also increased. I send you the current market statistics. They are pretty much self explaining. We have more ticket requests then seats. I guess Zurich will sooner or later ask you how to cope with that… So better think about it now, since you are no market logistic specialist.

Issue 2: Now to a more or less unlucky topic. Still no information from Zurich about Swift. May be it should be wise to approach the management directly. We need a clear decision the next few weeks, since Thal is bombing me with requests.

Issue 3: And last but not least… I just heard it via company gossip. Congratulations to your marriage. Jesus, the poor girl – how does she survive not being drowned in your endless technical monologues. She must have a large and even more strong nerves…

Please be so kind and submit me your marriage declaration. I need to pass it over to HR Department. You know – special privileges for family members.

Understood, Captain Nerd?

Topic: Okay, everything done…

Hey Nicky,

Okay, I got everything done today. First I fetched my new Citizen ID from city center. So, Indira Pashvati-Mercier now. Okay, I know, it is not the most friendly name for signature, but I like it that way. It somehow sounds elegant and educated. After that, I went over to health insurance, also applying for a name change as well as a new ID Card. I should get it in a month. Next think I informed my bank about. I should get all proper documents in around a week. By the way – the guy there told me, that you should also inform your employer about our marriage, since your fiscal rating will be downgraded. Additionally, you can apply for citizenship now, since you know – I am a daughter of a military officer. Chuckles…. So I can do some good things for you… You know, not just like preparing your food, washing the laundry or the other things we usually do *grinses brightly*

By the way – Teadra asked me whether I would be interested to work in the flight school for 25 hours, so 5 hours a day, 5 days per week. I know your position there already. So I assume, that you don’t mind that I said yes…

Additionally, Teadra offered me to take me through snub training. I know that you always liked me to handle our 85x. So I also accepted. Since you like a clean approach here, I also told Teadra that we favor the formal way. So I already signed the training treaty and applied for the medical exam. Teadra will submit the invoices by mail.

And then some last things. I was approached by some of the trainees here whether you could do some hours at flight school. I did not want to say no, but think about it. I guess the guys like you as well as your experience as Starliner captain…

Big kisses

Your wife

Nickolas Mercier

First Officer Nickolas Mercier was born in 2914 on Goss III. His father being a Navy Officer and his mother being a Nurse, he somehow merged with the differing interests in his family. Being sly and educated, well-mannered and long-term oriented, he somehow lacked all qualities necessary for his dream profession: becoming a fighter pilot. Although he learned aeronautics pretty early due to his Dad, Nick showed no sign of evidently necessary combat pilot qualities like intuition, agressivity and tactical focus. So he failed his Navy Combat Pilot Test in 2935. What can be a lack of qualities in one branch was his benefit in another. So he sucessfully passed his test for United Empire of Earth Imperial Center of Cartography in the same year and became Pilot in 23rd Exploration Group. He earned his merits there for being a skilled pilot, serving on an Andromeda Class Vessel in his final stages of service. In 2946 he surprisingly mustered out after his mother´s death and joined Intergalactic Airlines, gaining his Type Rating for Genesis Starliners in 2947 and advancing to management and flight instructor position rapidly. In 2949 he changed his employer and joined Atlas Defense Industry as transportation pilot for roughly a year. Prefering a career in civil aerospace transportation though, he skipped to Extensive Enterprises becoming Chief Pilot in 2950. Due to his experience in Starline Operation he was nominated as Interim Operations Manager for Swift Starlines - a small semi-bancrupt passenger and cargo transportation company in the same year, effectively managing to lead the company out of it´s financial within a year.
